Claudia Belem

Massage Therapist

Claudia has extensive experience working with individuals experiencing abuse, trauma, addiction and mental health issues. This has led to a growing interest in the impact of mental health, unwellness and dis-ease of the physical body. Both mind and body are deeply connected and work together to shape one’s perceptions of reality and physical health: ‘emotional stress is one of the main causes of physical illness’. In delivering bodywork and sound treatments Claudia supports individuals to de-stress and release underlying memories and blockages in the body allowing it to restore and help regulate the body and mind back to homeostasis.

Claudia is currently studying Dr Garbor Maté’s ‘Compassionate Inquiry’ to best support her clients through their healing journey. Amongst other treatments, Claudia, delivers deep abdominal and sacral massage that not only improve organ function but also releases physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen - this is the seat of our emotions and produces more serotonin (feel-good hormone) than the brain.

Claudia is also a Sound Practitioner and has specialised in Himalayan Singing bowls with Master Shree Krishna Shabi in Nepal, and has also studied with Harmonic Sounds, The International Association of Sound Therapy in Spain.

Claudia is both a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and also Complimentary Therapists Association (CThA).
